Explosion Venting

Kalwall^® manufactures a unique explosion venting system for factories or facilities where there is interior explosion risk. Kalwall’s translucent walls for explosion venting applications also provide natural daylighting for manufacturing or material handling areas. The system is calibrated to release at a predetermined pressure in order to protect the building’s integrity in the case of an explosive event.

Iluminación Natural has supplied Kalwall’s explosion venting walls in Mexico, Brazil, Denmark, Oman, India and Argentina. This application is common in the Pharmaceutical Industry as well as Munitions, Food Service and any other space where there is risk of explosion.

Kalwall supplies wall systems that are tested for compliance with Factory Mutual 4440 and FM 4881 as well as unit skylights that comply with FM 4471. Certain design criteria must be met to comply with this standard so please contact us for additional information.
